A New Generation of Feeding Solutions

FeedingTime is an automated gate developed by Evoltica, designed to provide horses with access to feed in a safe and efficient way. The system opens feeding gates to different sections sequentially, based on preset times. Through a user-friendly control panel, the owner can program up to three feedings per day. The system is built to withstand Scandinavian conditions and runs without a fixed power supply, making it flexible to use even in locations without electricity.

In practice, a paddock is divided into four sections using the gate. When feeding times are activated, the gates open step by step, so the horses gradually gain access to all three feeding areas throughout the day. This creates a natural rhythm that better reflects the horse’s needs.Installation is made simple, partly because the base has the same hole pattern as StopDigging’s SGC ground screws. This means it can be set up quickly, without digging or concrete work.

FeedingTime: Evoltica’s New Automatic Feeding Gate

FeedingTime™ is a battery-powered automated gate for horse enclosures, developed by Evoltica in Norway. Its purpose is to provide horses with access to feed up to three times per day without requiring human presence at the exact times, while ensuring safety and animal welfare. Currently, Freber supplies both the actuator and actuator cable, the internal cable connecting two PCBs in the control panel, as well as the overlay for the control panel. Moss Micro is also a co-developer on the project.
The prototype was recently launched at Dyrsku’n.

Benefits for Both Horse and Owner

The result is a solution that supports both horse and owner. Horses receive a steady and predictable feeding rhythm, which contributes to better digestion, gut health, and overall well-being. For the owner, it provides greater everyday flexibility, reducing the time pressure around feeding routines. FeedingTime is also designed with safety in mind: it avoids loose cables, moving parts that could pose a danger, and other elements that might harm the animal.

With its combination of automation, safety, and easy installation, FeedingTime stands out as a well-thought-out innovation. It can help reduce daily stress, create healthier routines for the horses, and free up time and energy for those responsible for their care.
