Cells

Freber is the main contact and representative for Tadiran Batteries in Norway, and we offer a complete range of advanced lithium batteries designed for demanding industrial and technical applications.

Tadiran is an internationally recognized supplier of long-life, robust, and reliable battery technology with over 40 years of experience in the development and production of lithium cells and packs.

Tadiran batteries are known for their extreme longevity, reliability in harsh conditions and minimal maintenance, characteristics that make them particularly well suited for systems where replacement is costly, difficult or technically critical.

Industrial batteries are a critical component in systems that require long-term reliability, stable performance and minimal maintenance. In the European market, industrial applications operate under strict regulatory requirements and demanding environmental conditions, making battery selection a strategic decision, not a standard product. From industrial automation and utility services to security systems, energy monitoring and infrastructure equipment, reliable industrial power supply is critical for continuous and uninterrupted operation.

What distinguishes Tadiran batteries from standard lithium batteries?

Tadiran is known for its extreme longevity, high energy density, and stable performance over time. Many of the cells are designed for applications with very low power consumption over many years, where battery replacement is costly or difficult.

They are particularly well suited for industrial systems where operational reliability is critical and downtime is unacceptable.

What is the difference between the LiSOCl₂ (LTC), TLM, and TLI series?

LiSOCl₂ (LTC): Primary cells with very low self-discharge and very long service life – ideal for long-term applications with low power consumption.

TLM Series: High-power cells with extremely low self-discharge. Not affected by passivation, allowing for 10 to 20 years of storage before use.

TLI Series: Rechargeable lithium-ion cells designed for extreme conditions. Can be charged from -40°C to +85°C and up to +135°C

Freber assists in selecting the right cell type based on load profile and service life requirements.

How long do industrial lithium cells last?

The service life depends on load, temperature, and application. In many cases, LiSOCl₂ cells can deliver stable performance for 10–20+ years when used correctly.

We assess power consumption, pulse load, and environmental conditions to ensure correct dimensioning and maximum service life.

What applications are these batteries suitable for?

Tadiran cells are often used in:

  • Industrial automation
  • Energy and consumption measurement
  • Telecommunications and infrastructure
  • Alarm and security systems
  • IoT and sensor networks

They are particularly well suited for systems that require continuous, maintenance-free operation over long periods of time.

Why is battery selection a strategic decision in industrial systems?

European industrial applications are subject to strict regulatory requirements and high expectations for operational reliability. Choosing the wrong battery can lead to downtime, increased service costs, and system failures.

Freber acts as a technical advisor and helps you choose the right battery technology based on service life, load profile, environment, and regulatory requirements.
