Design, production, and assembly
At Freber, we work closely with our customers throughout the entire process, from needs assessment and concept development to design, production, and assembly of complete battery solutions. Our solutions are built with a focus on:
- safety and quality
- long service life and operational reliability
- adaptation to environment, space, power, and voltage requirements
- integration with existing systems
We assemble battery packs and systems tailored to both standardized and highly specialized applications.
Certification and Approval
We take full responsibility for certification and approval, from clarifying requirements to finalizing the documentation.
UN38.3 Transport Certification for Lithium Batteries
All lithium batteries must comply with UN38.3 before they can be transported internationally. All lithium batteries must meet the requirements of UN38.3 before they can be transported internationally by air, sea, rail, or road. The standard is part of the UN’s regulations for the transport of dangerous goods and certifies that the battery can withstand the stresses it may be subjected to during transport.
The tests include simulations of altitude, temperature fluctuations, vibrations, shocks, short circuits, and overcharging. The purpose is to ensure that the batteries can be transported safely without the risk of fire, explosion, or other hazardous incidents.
Freber can provide guidance throughout the entire process, including assessing testing requirements, coordinating testing at accredited laboratories, and preparing the documentation required for transport and distribution.
IEC 62133 Safety Standard for Rechargeable Batteries
IEC 62133 is an international safety standard for rechargeable batteries and battery packs used in consumer electronics, industrial products, and medical equipment, among other applications. The standard sets requirements for the design, construction, testing, and safe use of batteries to reduce the risk of overheating, fire, and other safety issues.
Among other things, the standard covers tests for electrical safety, mechanical robustness, temperature effects, and fault conditions such as overcharging and short-circuiting. IEC 62133 is often a requirement for selling battery-powered products in many markets and is also used as the basis for several national and regional approvals.
Freber can provide guidance on the requirements of the standard, as well as assistance with the testing and documentation required for certification and market access.
